Also, there are people who don't have the equipment to use voice chat. I count myself to the first group, although I believe my real reason to use Xfire is to keep an eye on my gaming stats. The crashing definitely is somewhat annoying, one reason for it to crash without notice is on a high memory load. As I run boinc in the background which eats up quite a bit on top of all the other crap I have on, running a game the memory usage goes up to roughly 3~4gb. Xfire doesn't tend to like that and whenever a memory spike comes up it crashes.
