StumbleUpon and Firefox 3 – Auto-Bookmark on Thumb Up or Tag

StumbleUpon With the release of Firefox 3 our favorite distraction bar, or better known as „StumbleUpon Bar“, got a few new features some of us may like others may not want to use.

I don’t want to cover all of the new features.
I only cover one which I don’t use and I believe there are many people who don’t want to use either. I’m talking about the „save as local bookmark if thumbed up or if tagged“.

Maybe you noticed it already:

You stumble a site, you like it and you give your thumb up – Pew, and it is bookmarked.
You want to tag a site – Pew, and it is bookmarked.

I wish StumbleUpon wouldn’t set this feature to auto enabled, or at least they could ask us if we want to use this feature before enabling it. I’m not sure if they mentioned it somewhere and I’m a bit too lazy too Google for it.

Anyway, time to get rid of this feature Weiterlesen

My Radical Blogs Contest – Win 10,000 EntreCard Credits

I don’t remember how I discovered „My Radical Blogs„, I only know I found Lessca’s „1000 Blogs Against Whaling campaign“ a couple of days ago.
After having a short look at his site, I decided to subscribe to his RSS feed because most of the content interests me.

Today, as I looked through my RSS reader, I saw his second EntreCard article in which he promotes a contest.

For everyone using EntreCard out there, this contest is your chance to win up to 10,000 EntreCard credits!

Read the rules, maybe you decide to participate and win those credits.

P.S.: Lessca’s „Blogging Is About Sharing, Not Competing“ and „Bloghology – If you ever only download one ebook – this should be it“ are also worth reading.

NicEdit Linebreak Issue – How to fix it

NicEdit - Micro Inline WYSIWYGA lot of bloggers decided to use NicEdit to give their commentors a WYSIWYG editor to style the comment if needed.

NicEdit is a very slim JavaScript WYSIWYG editor which works break, except that some of us bloggers, like Matt at Webmaster-Source, Michael at ProBlogDesign or I myself, experience an odd error when it comes to simple linebreaks inserted by the editor itself.

If you use <br /> on your own, it will work properly. But who uses it if he or she has such a nice editor?

About a month ago I posted the issue on the NicEdit forum and got a reply which told me how to fix it. The author’s forum name of this fix is ihsan and I asked him for his ok about publishing the fix on my blog.

So far he did not reply, so I just go ahead and share it. Full credit for this fix goes to ihsan:

Everyone is getting Twitter…so do I

TwitterAs I watch the blogosphere I see more and more people using Twitter.

I decided to wait a bit for jumping onto the wagon and getting an own Twitter account. So here I am, with my very own Twitter account.

I will see how much I’ll use it and if it is worth keeping it, at least for me that is 😉

So bear with me and feel free to give me Twitter tips or at least share your thoughts. Of course you are also welcome to follow me.

P.S: I also added a „Recent Tweet“ to the sidebar using the Twitter Tools Plugin.
